
Miss Hastings Scholarship Program Area
The Miss Hastings Scholarship Competition is a closed program. A candidate must live, work full-time, or attend school within Hastings School District 200 or be a graduate of its high school and a resident of Minnesota to be eligible to compete.
Residency Requirements

Candidates must have established the above residency for a minimum of six months before competing in the Miss Hastings Scholarship Competition. Residency is the primary address where you physically live. Verification of residency includes a driver's license, automobile registration, property mortgage, a lease in your name, or tax document.

Miss Hastings Scholarship Competition Age Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age as of July 31st in the calendar year of the state competition in which she competes.

Must not be older than twenty-five (25) years of age on December 31st in the calendar year of the state competition in which she competes.

Young women born between January 1, 1997, and July 31, 2004, meet the age requirements to enter the 2021 Miss Hastings Scholarship Competition.

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent by July 31st in the calendar year of the state competition in which she competes.

Young women who earn their high school diploma by July 31, 2022, meet the high school graduation requirement to enter the 2021 Miss Hastings Scholarship Competition.

Other Requirements Applicable to All Candidates

Female, not married, and have never had any children.

Meet character criteria as set forth by MAO.

Meet time commitment responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Hastings Scholarship Program and the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Organization.

Attend state competition orientation, typically in April, and state competition week in mid-June during your service year.

Should you win the Miss Minnesota title, you must:

Have the ability to take a six-month leave of absence from your job and/or take off the fall semester from school. Frequent appearances and travel make this a necessity.

Travel to Orlando, FL to attend Miss America's orientation.

Travel to the Miss America Competition, which is typically a two-week trip.

These requirements are consistent with those established for Miss candidates of the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program.

Social Impact Initiative Requirements

Each candidate is required to choose the Social Impact Initiative (SII) of her choice to advocate during her year as Miss Hastings.

Candidates must raise a minimum of $100 for the Miss America Foundation before her local competition begins.

Each candidate may raise the funds for her contribution through a website provided to her by Miss America Organization with cash donations/gifts or the sale of items she has created specifically to promote her Social Impact Initiative.
